STAMPI MIGLIORATI - SUPER DECAL Il Boeing E/A-18 G Growler è nato per soddisfare una precisa necessità della U.S. Navy: disporre di un aereo specializzato per la guerra elettronica destinato a sostituire gli ormai datati, sia per avionica che per prestazioni, Grumman EA-6B Prowler. Il Growler è direttamente derivato dal caccia biposto imbarcato F/A-18 F Super Hornet di cui conserva sostanzialmente tutte le caratteristiche aerodinamiche. I due motori General Electric garantiscono al Growler una velocità massima di mach 1.8 e prestazioni in linea con gli aerei a cui deve garantire il supporto. L'equipaggio è costituito dal pilota e, in tandem, dal WSO (Weapon System Officer). A differenza del F/A-18 non è dotato del cannone ma è in grado di trasportare nei suoi piloni subalari pod per il disturbo radar e per la guerra elettronica, serbatoi supplementari, chaff e flare dispenser nonché missili AIM-120 AMRAAM.
